NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK
Nagarhole National Park is part of a vast wildlife reserve covering more than 1,500 square kilometres, which also includes Bandipur National Park, Mudumalai & Waynad wildlife sanctuaries. Situated at the junction of the Western Ghats, Nilgiri Hills and Deccan Plateau by the Kabini River, Nagarhole was established in 1955, becoming a national park in 1975. Once the exclusive hunting preserve of the erstwhile rulers of Mysore, the park’s terrain is gently undulating with tall trees, swaying bamboo and grassy expanses, making an ideal habitat for a wide variety of wildlife and birds.
