Responsible Tourism

DMC is encouraging tourism that is minimally intrusive or destructive to the environment, and which strengthens native cultures and local economies. We support this initiative by using services and hotels that share these values. The hotels incorporating these ideas are often very creative, include actively encouraging the use of appropriate local practices, materials, art, crafts, architecture and food products. Introducing energy saving practices, water harvesting, use of solar and other natural energy sources. Establishing good waste management practices, especially for non-bio degradable materials, and low pollution-generating practices that minimize their carbon footprint. As part of ‘Destination Management Consultants’ commitment to responsible tourism practices, we are member of the TOFTigers campaign. This is a global travel industry initiative which aims to advocate, catalyse and support a more responsible and sustainable approach to tourism in India’s wildlife reserves, together with supporting specific conservation and local community programmes which benefit the local villagers and the wildlife within the parks you visit as part of your itinerary with us.
